Our 5W Wednesday series highlights a variety of health care organizations, professionals and programs that keep our community healthy.
Each year, dental teams around the country participate in the American Dental Association’s Give Kids a Smile! program by providing free oral health care to kids from low-income families.
Why is this important?
Tooth decay and other dental disease is almost entirely preventable, and establishing good oral health habits in childhood prepares kids for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Click here for more information on children’s oral health.
Who can be a patient?
The first 100 kids ages 5-12 will be seen on a first come, first-served basis.
What services are available?
Free dental cleanings, x-rays, sealants, fillings, and extractions.
When is it?
Give Kids a Smile! takes place Saturday, February 4 from 9:30am-2pm. The doors will open at 8am. (This is a popular program that can only serve a finite number of kids, so it is advisable to arrive early!)
Where is it?
The clinic will be held at the U-M School of Dentistry, located at 1011 N University, Ann Arbor, MI 48109 (map). Free parking will be available at the Fletcher Parking Structure, located at 201 Fletcher St. (map).
