In recognition of Health Literacy Month the University of Michigan Health Sciences Libraries will be hosting a free two-day event to encourage the development of a network to increase awareness and foster collaboration to improve health literacy efforts in our community.
“Health Literacy Forum and Workshop: Building a Community Network to Improve Health Communication”
Thursday, October 22nd
A panel discussion will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Taubman Medical Library in room 2903-TML. The poster sessions and strolling dinner will follow on the 4th floor of the Taubman Medical Library.
Friday, October 23rd
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Jean Shipman will lead a health literacy workshop including the Medical Library Association’s course “Prescription for Information: Addressing Health Information Literacy!” This workshop will be held on the second floor of the Taubman Medical Library in room 2901-TML. Light breakfast will be provided.
