Speakers, who will address the clinical impact of brain injuries, brain and recreational injuries at the population level, and how the CDC is addressing the issue, include:

  • David Sleet, Associate Director for Science, CDC National Injury Prevention and Control
  • Dr. Jeff Kutcher, Director, Michigan Neurosport Program
  • Lloyd Carr, UM football coach 1995 – 2007

The symposium is in accordance with the theme of this year’s National Public Health Week, April 4-10, “Safety Is No Accident: Live Injury Free.”  The American Public Health Association says: “Together, we can help Americans live injury-free in all areas of life: at work, at home, at play, in your community and anywhere people are on the move. We all need to do our part to prevent injuries and violence in our communities. Join us as we work together to create a safer and healthier nation.”
