St. Francis of Assisi Health Fair: Finding Reliable Health Information Online

This Sunday, May 22, from 9:00am-2:00pm, staff from the Taubman Health Sciences Library participated in the St. Francis of Assisi Health Fair in Ann Arbor, joining over forty vendors to provide free health education and health screenings. Our table shared information on MedlinePlus, HealthFinder, NIHSeniorHealth, and ToxNet. These resources are freely available from any Internet-connected device. We brought an iPad and laptop to provide real-time demonstrations of MedlinePlus, a reliable source of consumer health information developed by the National Library of Medicine.

If you weren’t able to make it to the fair, or simply want a “refresher course”, this presentation will help you navigate to MedlinePlus, NIHSeniorHealth, and ToxNet and find resources on each site.

This health fair is an annual event run by the St. Francis of Assisi Health Ministry.  We hope to see you next year!
