Join MLibraryHealthy at the HomeGrown Festival, which celebrates food and community in southeastern Michigan, focusing broad mainstream attention on the people who grow our food and the land that sustains us. The festival supports the benefits (and pleasure!) of eating from our own foodshed to create a virtuous cycle that improves our health, our environment and our economy. Entry is free, and affordable tasting portions of a great variety of food and drink will be for sale.
Program: Food and drink (including alcoholic beverages for those 21 and older) will be available to purchase from great Michigan vendors. There will be live music, chef demos, a farm stand, fun kids’ activities, a silent auction and goods store, as well as great non-profits to visit (including us!). Find more details here.
Info/Directions: The festival will take place on Saturday September 10th from 6pm-10pm at the Farmers’ Market in downtown Ann Arbor. Click here for a map and parking information (including a bicycle valet!).
