What? A free health fair focusing on all types of diabetes with presentations, health screenings, exhibits, and door prizes!
When? Saturday, November 10th from 9 am to 1 pm
Where? The fair will be in the Sheraton Ann Arbor Hotel (previously the Four Pointsat 3200 Boardwalk in Ann Arbor (map)
Why? The purpose of the fair is to provide free, up to date information about diabetes prevention and treatment to the public, and to raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of diabetes in Michigan and in the nation. Diabetes is a serious disease that leads to potentially life-threatening complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, blindness, and amputation. The American Diabetes Association estimates that 24 million children and adults in the United States live with diabetes currently, and an additional 57 million Americans are at risk for type 2 diabetes.
