Join us this Saturday, January 12th at Ypsilanti High School for Women’s Health and Fitness Day! This event, now in its seventh year, is organized by a group of medical students from the University of Michigan Medical School. This day is focused on educating the community – women and men of all ages – about various aspects of women’s health. Each attendee will have the opportunity to attend workshops led by experts from the University of Michigan and other health professionals from the local community. WHFD is free for all participants and includes a complimentary healthy breakfast and lunch. This day is sure to be educational, exciting, and fun-filled for all who come!
Registration is easy and free. Just go online here , or register on the day of the event (online registration is preferred). Breakfast for the event starts at 8:45 AM and there are three sets of sessions at 9:30, 10:30 & 11:30. After the sessions, there will be a free lunch and a keynote address by Dr. Sofia Merajver. Dr. Merajver is the Scientific Director of the Breast Cancer Program and Director of the Breast and Ovarian Cancer Risk Evaluation Program at the UM Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is also a Professor of Internal Medicine and Epidemiology. Her clinical interests include helping women whole families understand how to manage and decrease their risk of cancer and how to modify lifestyle factors to help keep cancer away.
