What: This seminar will cover some of the barriers to understanding and discuss different strategies to improve the informed consent process. The seminar will also discuss the bio-ethical doctrine of informed consent.

Who: Dr. Alan Tait  is the speaker. Dr. Tait is the Department of Anesthesiology Endowed Professor of ClinicalResearch. He serves as the Director of Clinical Research and is the Chair of the Anesthesiology Clinical Research Committee. Dr. Tait is also a member of the Institutional Review Board and the Medical School Admissions Execu-tive Committee, and is the Chair of the Research Committee for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia.

Why: The Center for Bioethics and Social Sciences in Medicine (CBSSM) hosts bi-monthly lectures on important topics in bio-ethics and the social sciences. Informed consent is a cornerstone of research today. Come learn more about the ethical conundrums surrounding this concept.
