Sujal Parikh Memorial Symposium for Health & Social Justice

The 3rd Annual Sujal Parikh Memorial Symposium for Health & Social Justice will take place this Saturday and Sunday in the Biomedical Sciences Research Building (map).

The theme of this year’s symposium is “Examining the Why, Discovering the How”. Sessions will take place all day Saturday, with registration and breakfast starting at 7:45 AM, on a variety of public health and social justice topics. To list just a few of the sessions:

  • Dr. Suzan Song: Self-awareness in Global Health Initiatives
  • Dr. Marc ZimmermanViolence Prevention Through Community Change
  • Panel Discussion: Challenges and Successes in Veteran Care
  • Dr. Matt Davis, Elizabeth Lamoste & Dr. Jane Turner: The State of Affairs of Domestic Access to Care
  • Sal Calo Street Medicine Detroit: a student-led mobile medical outreach model for the unreached, service resistant homeless of Detroit
  • Panel Discussion: The roles of faith-based vs. government and public initiatives in global health
